Support Shopify’s largest merchants through incident command, production investigations, and flash-sale capacity planning. Work with engineering teams to address recurring production problems. Previously worked on data pipelines feeding Shopify’s data warehouse in the Data Reliability Engineering team.

Used patterns from months of production incidents to guide two improvements:

• Automated database capacity management across the storefront fleet to handle flash-sale demand and release excess capacity afterward
• Developed adaptive rate limiting for the Admin GraphQL API to protect checkout and storefront availability during database overload

• Introduced distributed tracing with OpenTelemetry, reducing production issue diagnosis from hours to minutes
• Automated capacity scaling during an AWS-to-GCP migration, replacing manual adjustments with data-driven policies
• Built an analytics pipeline that let Customer Success generate reports without engineering support

• Designed Kubernetes deployments for Interset’s data infrastructure
• Led the team delivering the first integration of Interset’s analytics engine with HPE ArcSight
• Developed data integrity tests that uncovered critical reliability issues and helped resolve them
• Delivered technical training on Spark and Vertica on Kubernetes, and explained ML applications to cross-functional teams
